What is burnout?

Burnout is also characterized by feelings of apathy, cynicism and detachment.
Burnout has been linked to increased risk for depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders and suicidal ideation. Burnout may also lead to decreased productivity at work or school as well as relationship difficulties at home.
