An energy forecast for the December full moon
by Zoe Davis
On December 22nd, the day after the solstice we have a full moon in its home of Cancer. Cancer moon can be an emotionally overwhelming time however this month there is an opportunity to see alternatives and options for emotional growth and choose emotional freedom.
There are some very strengthening emotional and psychological influences happening at the time of this moon, this will provide the confidence to choose to feel what is powerful, what is fun and what will bring benefits in the long term. This is a time of making emotional decisions that are lifting out of old energies and into the new.
Embrace the emotional freedom to do what feels good and what feels right even if it’s way out of your normal comfort zone, this is a time to experience new feelings that are going to feel weird and unpredictable, this is what change feels like!
If you want change then boldly let things feel weird for a bit until it becomes the new comfortable.
The wobbly communication of the last couple of moons is continuing, there will be times when words escape you, or perhaps words become jumbled even though you know exactly what you want to say. Don’t worry, you aren’t going mad, this is an influence of Mercury still squaring Neptune, this will pass soon. A lesson here is to allow yourself to slow down and really think about what you’re saying and hearing and make allowances for your communication to have meaning and weight.
There will be a gentle tender energy this month, perfect for romance or spending time with people you care about as well as being open to new people and new energies. Spiritual connections and sacred energy will be valued and provide nourishment and inspiration on a deeply felt level. Light candles and incense, meditate, journal, spend time around water and let your feelings run deep.
Art, music and creativity may express itself with a more compassionate quality then at other times. Coupled with a strong influence of fun and expansive optimism, festive enjoyment is assured!
It is particularly powerful to focus on creating new habits of treating yourself with the upmost kindness and do whatever you can to meet your own needs by listening to your body and respectively providing it what it asks.
Develop a sense of grace when caring for yourself and do not compromise your health or happiness for old belief systems that deplete you or keep you in an overworked sense of false importance.
Enjoy your body, trust your intuition and ask your cells and DNA to tell you what they need and let them know that you are respectfully listening and willing to respond.
There is the added energy of a full moon right after this Solstice which is a major portal closure of darkness and new opening of light. Let the door close on what is behind you and be open to moving into the new. This is a time of great spiritual awakening and may be a peak experience of the awakenings and epiphanies since the last 11:11:11 of November 11th, this is also the last moon before the eclipse season begins again next new moon.
Take a moment to look back to the blood moon lunar eclipse in July and take note of the changes and developments you’ve experienced since then. Accept what isn’t working including any and all fears that need to be released and just leave them behind.
Write all of your fears and bad habits down on a piece of paper and decide to overcome everything you see on the page. Write the exact opposite of each one of your fears and you will see that you are actually afraid to succeed! You deserve to succeed; everyone does if they so choose, deliberately choose to succeed.
