How To Stay Cool When You're Super Busy
Sometimes it's impossible to avoid being super busy, but you don't want to get really good at being super busy all the time. Busy isn't meant to be a way of life and it doesn't mean you'll be happier, remember it's not sustainable and after it while it's just not fun.
Here's a few tips to remember when you're back's against the wall and you've just got to get s**t done!
1. Don't overwhelm yourself.
Only write 5 things at a time on your to do list, when you complete them, then write another 5. I like to use a post it note, small, simple and easy to carry around and throw out when done!
2. Remember WHY you are busy.
If you forget why you are so busy, stop, close your eyes, breathe and feel what it'll be like when you done everything. That feeling is WHY you are doing it. If you're doing it because it has to be done 'or else', ask yourself what is the 'or else'? Or else is not a good enough reason to be stressing out.
3. Set aside some quiet time for yourself everyday.
Meditate, even if it's 5 minutes sitting in the car before you go into work or the shops. Just sit down, shut up, close your eyes, breathe and relax. It's that simple and it'll make all the difference.
Breathe, and come back to your centre, now and always. Give yourself reminders to get back on path and do it at often as you can.
Busy can be fun. If you find yourself doing something you really are not enjoying, then stop and ask yourself what you would rather be doing, and do that instead! If you can't get out of it, then decide that you'll plan for it differently next time.
