Get out of overwhelm and into empowerment... How to Stop Feeling StuckWhen you lose focus it’s easy to get stuck in overwhelm. Thoughts go to worst case scenario, everything feels too hard and nothing flows. Then you find yourself busy getting nowhere or even giving up and do nothing. At those times what we want most is empowerment but interestingly what we get trapped in is stubbornness. Think about it... When you feel stuck you: Stubbornly focus on the negatives. Stubbornly think the worst will happen. Stubbornly feel it’s all hopeless. Stubbornly blame the outside world and not take responsibility. Stubbornly ignore possible solutions and stay stuck in powerlessness. This is a reminder that no matter how hard or complicated things look and feel there is always a way to keep moving forward and be empowered. 1. DECIDE The first step to stop feeling stuck is to look at where you’re fanning the flames of fear and drama or feeling sorry for yourself. Take a deep breath and decide you’re not going to waste another minute feeling out of control or giving your power away. Deep down we know we can overcome self-sabotage, sometimes we’re too stubborn or proud to admit it or afraid of the possibilities empowerment may bring! That’s okay, it happens to us all especially when facing something new or unfamiliar. Commit to choosing feeling empowered over feeling stuck. 2. COME BACK TO YOUR CENTRE Where is your centre? Right where you think it is, in your gut. Put your hands on your belly and breathe down into your abdomen. Set an intention for PEACEFUL EMOTIONS. Did you know that peaceful emotions build COURAGE? If your emotions aren’t peaceful you’re stuck in worry and giving your power away. Come back to your centre, focus on your belly and peaceful emotions and keep breathing. Feel your power in your body, forget the noise around you, slow your thoughts and calmly build your courage. 3. LISTEN TO YOURSELF Treat yourself with kindness and meet your own needs.
Care for yourself, stop repeating habits that deplete you or keep you stuck in an overworked sense of false importance. Put your hands on your chest and ask your heart what is best for you right now, what does it say? Give your body what it wants; nourishing foods, rest, play and lots of deep breathing. Every little bit counts. 4. GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD Write down your fears and doubts and let them go. On another page write the exact opposite of each one of your doubts and you’ll immediately see where you’d rather be putting your energy. If you’re not into writing try voice memos. Talk it all out but you must go back and listen to it, you’ll be amazed at how much support and encouragement you can give yourself when you hear what’s buzzing around in your head. If you fear the unknown explore what you’re afraid of, this can be very empowering and often you’ll find that when you understand something you no longer fear it. Use your mind for powerful thinking and get creative even if it’s just for fun. 5. HAVE FAITH Pray and set intentions. Hand your problems and stuck energies over to a higher power and trust that the Universe provides. Believe in miracles and visualise your issues resolved and healed. Really feel that resolved energy and make a habit of coming back to that feeling. Meditate on what a perfectly healed and happy life looks and feels like to you. Do what you know is right to make that vision real, trust that all will be well and it will be. Feeling stuck can be very complicated particularly if it’s been going on for a long time.
